Hidden Words |

| In the Hidden Words Bahá'u'lláh
reviews the fundamental spiritual truths that lie at the heart
of all the world's religions. Written in short poetic verses,
the Hidden words were revealed in two languages: Arabic and
Persian. Each Hidden Word is numbered, and all together they
total 153 verses. |

| In this book Bahá'u'lláh speaks
about other Prophets, portrays Their lives and Their sufferings,
demonstrates the truth of Their Missions and describes the
common feature of Their Faiths. In this way He brings to the
understanding of the reader the truth of His own religion.
Shoghi Effendi translated the book into English in 1929-1930.
In its original language it is a model of Persian literature
for its style and prose. |

Most Holy Book (The Kitáb-i-Aqdás) |

| The Kitáb-i-Aqdas is Arabic for "The
Most Holy Book." It is the book of laws that Bahá'u'lláh
has given to Bahá'ís to follow and has two main
parts: the description of the laws themselves, and a question/answer
section that gives greater detail on the laws. Shoghi Effendi
summarized the contents of the book in the "Synopsis
and Codification," which is also included in this link. |

to a Ms. Laura Clifford Barney. Ms. Barney asked Him questions
during multiple visits from 1902 to 1906. The book is organized
around the topics He covered, and provides simple, clear answers
to many different questions. |
